Grain · Deep Bowl

€30,00

Grains as nourishment, care through everyday food.

A deep 800 ml bowl with a 15 cm opening for cooked grains, pulses and vegetables. The higher walls gather ingredients and a little dressing; leave space below the rim to mix and eat with a spoon.

The Suwen gives grains a foundational place in nourishment and describes food combinations as nourishing essence and qi. OrienX develops that intention of everyday support into barley or rice, lentils and roasted vegetables. Épi is for those who enjoy a plant-based meal in a bowl and want care for food to become part of daily life.

Food traditions and this piece

Grains, essence and qi in everyday nourishment

In Zangqi Fashi Lun, the Suwen places grains at the foundation of nourishment and describes foods working together to replenish essence and support qi. In this traditional view, essence is the refined substance that sustains and constitutes the body; qi concerns its activities and vital functions. The intention is to support the body through ordinary food, consistently over time. OrienX takes the plant-based possibilities from this thinking to develop a contemporary grain, pulse and vegetable bowl.

Bringing everyday nourishment into one bowl

Cook barley or rice, add cooked lentils, roasted carrots and leafy greens, then olive oil, lemon and herbs to taste. Grains provide the starchy base, pulses contribute plant protein, and vegetables bring variety. Épi's compact opening and higher walls bring the ingredients together in front of you, with space left for mixing; the grey beige lets the food remain visible. On its own, a bowl for a regular main meal. With Récolte, an individual share of a communal dish, linking care for yourself with care at a shared table.
