Why it works

The 22.8 cm surface gives room to arrange a main dish and its accompaniments. At 5 cm deep, the plate contains curry, thick soup or pasta sauce without hiding the composition. Its approximately 14 cm ring foot and 637 g weight balance easy carrying with a secure stance on the table. The gently rippled, lotus-leaf edge does not obstruct cutlery; it gives food a soft frame instead. OrienX reads that line as a contemporary interpretation of an unfolding leaf, not a reproduction of a historic motif or origin.

Material & making

Glazed ceramic with a finely speckled cream tone and caramel-colored rim. Firing can create subtle differences in glaze tone or surface from one piece to another.

OrienX inspiration

The design takes inspiration from the outline of a lotus leaf unfolding on water and from Eastern landscape composition, where a boundary supports the centre and negative space guides the eye. The gently rippled rim creates a soft edge, while the broad sloping shoulder leads toward the central well and gives the food room to breathe. OrienX translates this seasonal, botanical feeling into a contemporary plate that contains a composition without over-directing it. This is a brand design interpretation, not a reproduction of a historical pattern or vessel.
