Why it works

Designed for filter coffee, tea and a small sweet, this piece first aims to make the everyday gesture simple and comfortable. The gently substantial stoneware body feels stable in the hand and holds warmth comfortably. A widened handle root spreads the load across the fingers, while the rounded contact ring helps the cup settle naturally back onto its saucer. It therefore fits naturally into daily use without asking for a special way of serving or holding it.

Material & making

Ceramic with underglaze decoration and a surface intended for everyday use. Firing and decoration can create subtle differences in tone or speckling from one piece to another.

OrienX inspiration

OrienX inspiration — We read the cup and saucer as a small architecture of pause: one volume for the drink and one open circle for a spoon or a sweet. This contemporary interpretation is about measure and attention in the gesture, not a claim of a specific historical origin.

Handmade piece

Small differences in tone, speckling or profile are part of the glaze character and do not affect everyday use.
