Care guide

Back to the shop

Good care does not keep a piece away from daily life; it helps it withstand repeated use. Always check the individual product page first.

Everyday essentials

Before first use

Wash with lukewarm water and mild detergent, then dry with a soft cloth. Check for cracks or transport damage before use.

Hand washing

A soft sponge and neutral detergent are the safest choice. Avoid steel wool, strong abrasives and prolonged soaking of wooden or composite parts.

Appliance use

Use a dishwasher or microwave only when the product page allows it. Choose a gentle cycle and prevent pieces from knocking together.

Heat

Unless explicitly stated, avoid ovens, freezers, open flames and stovetops. Table ceramics are not cookware.

Avoid thermal shock

Do not pour boiling water into a very cold piece or place a hot piece on a cold or wet surface. Sudden changes create internal stress and can crack ceramics.

Stacking & storage

Place a soft separator between glazed surfaces that may rub. Lift rather than drag each piece, and do not let a handle or rim carry the weight of a stack.

Tea, coffee & metal marks

Clean promptly with lukewarm water and mild detergent. For stubborn marks, first test a soft paste of baking soda and water on an inconspicuous area. Avoid bleach and strong abrasives unless the product instructions allow them.

Glaze over time

Some glazes develop a subtle patina or change in lustre with use. This records time. Stop using a piece with a through-crack, sharp chip or damaged food-contact surface and contact us.

Materials, glazes and decorations differ. Product-specific instructions take priority over this general guide.
